Hi Tina2, at present we can't be specialists in this. No doubt you can find a lot of material on the internet. Let us know if you see any relevant cross over with IC-BPS. From my naive point of view, maybe some kind of HRT - local for example - might be useful in your case.

| Hi barjammar, i have done so much research into the condition. It all overlaps!! Its crazy everytime you go down one avenue it takes you down another. I swear ill be bankrupt after all the tests i had done only to find nothing its frustrating and heartbreaking, i just know there is something wrong with me and my bladder, im 37 and my bladder is shedding at such a rate it will soon be so damaged and unrepairable. So scared of that happening | |

| I don't know much about BV, but I know many women who say they have both. This isn't quite the same thing, but after having this bladder condition for several years, I'm now told I have an inflamed cervix. I've had a few people peering up there over the last couple of years looking for answers, and this is a new development for me. An inflamed cervix is apparently very common, doesn't cause pain or discomfort and is nothing that needs treating. I think what's going on is connected, but I have no evidence to prove anything.
Aside from a cure (of course), I want this condition cracked so medical professionals stop treating us like absolute morons.

| Absolutely, we know our bodies better than any doctor and when we are trying to explain our symptoms the common decency would be to listen, my doctor just tells me im wrong and that what i am explaining cannot be true because of my test results. Some days i feel like mine is BV (thats also how my symptoms started) and then other days its like someone/something is playing tennis in my bladder, then other days its like its in my urethra... | |

| A bit of an update, found a new GP at long last someone who knows little of IC but willing to listen and help if at all possible. He comes from a compounding pharmacy family background so have so good knowledge and understanding of vulva issues. What I have found is that when the vulva is highly inflammed the bladder is also normaly very irritated. This GP sent me off to a compound pharmacy who showed me a new formula Mucolox which they suggested as a base. This is the first product I have been able to use around the vulva with out extream pain in 20 years. To this was added very small amounts of Oestriol/Testosterone. Been using it for close to a month now twice a week, still have inflamation but little or no pain or dryness. Hope this might help someone. | |
